Our story

R. D. Jenkins and Son, Inc.,  is an innovative company that pursues excellence and the highest level of professionalism in the Death Care Industry and is ready to meet the changing challenges of the twenty-first century.

R. D. Jenkins and Son, Inc., is a story that is really just beginning. Elder Roddrick D. Jenkins is a native of Northampton County Virginia and now resides in the Hampton Roads area.  Elder. R. D. Jenkins is the son of Charlie A. Jenkins and the late Evangelist Myrtle E. Jenkins. He attended the public schools of Accomack County and graduated from Gupton – Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta Georgia.  After matriculating from Gupton – Jones College of Funeral Service he successfully passed the National Conference of Funeral Service Examination Board the following month. While living in the Atlanta Georgia Region during that school year he had the privileged to work under and learn Restorative art techniques from the late Mr. Donald Trimble whom was accredited for dressing and performing the restoration of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Following graduation he returned to the Eastern shore of Virginia and started his internship and after completing his residency in 1996 he successfully passed the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers exam. He began to further his studies in 2014 at the Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union and is working towards earning his Master in Divinity and a Master in Christian Education.

As David said, “I have been young, and now am old”, which gives light to the fact that time, changes all.  My ministry has been given to me by God to edify and build His kingdom.  I embrace my calling and I am on fire for the Lord.  Since being licensed to preach the gospel, I have been completely focused on Kingdom building. It is also through God’s will that I have a strong desire to continue working to cultivate and feed his sheep, as well as myself.

Elder R. D. Jenkins serves God’s people, whether in his professional or in the service of God’s church. His beliefs is that everyone needs to experience who God is and develop that relationship whereas God is the one who will sustain, support and guide as they continue in this journey of life.

We are here to serve you if you are insured, underinsured or not insured at all!
