Deacon Lee Herman Dailey

Lee Herman Dailey, 82 of Suffolk, Va., transitioned from Labor to Reward on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Lee was born to the late Herman Lee Dailey and Maggie Moore Dailey on May 24, 1942 in Holland, Va. Lee was a graduate of South Western High School, Class of 1962. After High School Lee moved to New Jersey where he started working at Windcheck Windows & Doors for a short period. Then he was Employed by Haband Clothing Co., where he was a Forman and he worked as a Machinist for 31 years until his Retirement in 1995. After moving to NJ, Lee met and married Marlene Tobias and out of that Union 3 Children were born. Lee continued to be a Loving Father to his 3 children and in 1975 he met the Love of his Life, Diane Dubose. After a Beautiful 5 yr courtship Lee and Diane married on October 4, 1980. Out of this union 3 children were born. Lee was a sweet, kind, quiet, smart, strong, loving family man who was always willing to help anyone in need. He always put God first in every thought and plan. Lee was a very Talented man. Besides his Home Improvement Business (L & A Construction), his favorite thing to do was Sing... Lee started singing at the age of 12 and was apart of various singing groups including: The Family Gospel Singers and The Gospel Bibletones. He also sang with The Angelic Choir & The Adult Choir of The First Baptist Church of Nutley NJ, where he also became a Deacon. He also sang with the Petra Baptist Church of Montclair, NJ. After his retirement, Lee & Diane moved back to Suffolk Va., and he sang with The Male Chorus of Zion Christian Church and Zion Community. Lee was a Past Master at Lawrence Roberts Lodge 31. Lee was Preceded in Death by his Parents: Herman Lee & Maggie Dailey and 2 Sons: Robert Dailey & Lee Dailey Jr. Lee leaves to cherish his memory: his Loving Wife, Diane Dailey, A Loving Brother, James Dailey, Va., 5 Children: Brian Dailey(April)Wharton NJ., Brenda Dailey-Pugh, Kennesaw Ga., Lisa Dailey-Jones(Qiana) Canton Ga., Emma Palfi(Patrick) Bayonne NJ., and Lawrence Dailey(Tricia)Osceola IN., 16 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and a Host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, family, extended family and close friends.
