In Loving Memory of Minister Charity January 26, 1961 – July 10, 2026 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Minister Charity, who peacefully departed this life on July 10, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on January 26, 1961, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, hard work, compassion, and a deep love for his family and community. His kind heart, humble spirit, and willingness to serve left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Minister Charity attended Phoebus High School and built a career using his God-given talents in construction and home improvement. He worked for Wilron Construction and New York Water Works, was skilled in repairing automobiles and building homes, and became the CEO of Praise Home Improvement in 2007. In 2008, he joined Empowered Believer Christian Learning Center, where he faithfully served as a minister, encouraging others through his faith, wisdom, and servant's heart. He was also a loyal Washington Commanders fan who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Family was the center of Minister Charity's life. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Elder Michelle Spence; his children, Terre (Alyssa) Gales, Jonathan Ford, Nicole (Terrance) Jones, Keyona (Marquise) Grier; his beloved mother, Patricia Charity; twelve cherished grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brothers, David, Irvin, James (Mathia) Dorsey, Kevin (Towana) Dorsey, Brian Charity, Sanford (Dianne), James (Carolyn) Billups, Randolph (Betty) Billups, Marvin (Gloria) Billups, Eric (Rebie) Billups, and brothers in Christ Dr. Sylvester K. Starkes and Jerry L. Davis; his sisters, Judy (Isaiah) Roberts, Margo Farison, Patricia Dorsey, Rhonda (Bishop Ike) Williams, Constance, Shirley, Sonja, Sandra (Leroy), Sherryl, and sister in Christ Debora. Also special cousins Pastor Mike Anderson and Delia Anderson, Godbrother Leon Williams and Godsister Ashley Williams; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Sanford Charity and William Charity; his mother, Lucilla Lipscomb; his brothers, Garfield Lipscomb, Kenneth Charity Sr., and brother in Christ Robert Covington; and his niece, Ebony O'Conner. Minister Charity's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and service. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, integrity, and devotion to God and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
